Jag trotsar vädret

Jag var så trött igår mot kväll-ningen, när jag kollade klockan var den bara 20 och så tidigt kan jag inte lägga mig för att sova. Hur jag än försökte kunde jag inte hålla mig vaken, jag vaknade vid 22-tiden för att stänga av Netflix och sen somna jag om utan problem. Nästa gång jag vaknade var klockan strax före midnatt då var det regnet som väckte mig, jag var tvungen att stänga glasdörrarna för gardinerna sögs in och ut i myggnätet.

Jag var helt säker på att vi skulle ha stora mängder regnvatten på tomten och även runt om i Procab men det hade vi inte. Även denna morgon var Ginger ovillig att gå ut så jag gick mina två varv först sen fick jag med mig Ginger dock inte på nån längre promenad men ut kom hon i alla fall.

Seija hade kollat dagens väder och det ska tydligen regna till och från som det skulle ha gjort igår vilket det inte gjorde, blir det samma idag också? När jag såg lite blå himmel mellan molnen bestämde jag mig för att trotsa det eventuella regnvädret, jag tog fram turkos målarfärg och pensel sen började jag mitt projekt att fräscha upp blomkrukor. Idag blev det 9 krukor som fick sig ett nytt lager med färg. Där krukorna står på gaveln till lägen-hetshuset där ska jag fräscha upp marken imorgon, jag ska rensa bort ogräs och löv samt ställa krukorna i en mer rak linje om det nu går med tanke på den ojämna marken. När färg och pensel var tillbaka i vårt förråd då såg jag att det var nån turkos blomkruka i den andra palmdungen som också behövde lite uppfräschning av färgen men det får bli en annan dag.

Jag väntar på att tvättmaskinen ska bli klar så att jag kan hänga tvätten. Det ser ut som vädret håller på att klarna upp i alla fall är det mer och mer sol än tidigare, jag kommer att chansa och ställa tvättställningen i solen på terrassen med förhoppning om snabb torkning av tvätten.

Ginger bara älskar att ligga på solsängen, hon gör det oftare och oftare. Jag har sett att det finns "solsäng" för hund, en sån ska Ginger få om vi har en tillräckligt stor balkong/terrass för det när vi väl bor i Spanien, det går självklart lika bra att ha den inomhus så det får blir ett alternativ för oss. Igår kollade jag på Amazon och man kan beställa en därifrån den var inte alltför dyr heller.

Vi har bestämt att vi ska åka till Sosua på måndag, vi ska hoppa av vid El Choco för att kolla om poolbutiken där har den gula vätskan som man behöver för att kolla klorhalten i poolen, den finns inte att få tag på här i Cabarete om man inte köper ett helt nytt testkitt vilket vi gjorde sist. När vi sen promenerar mot Sosua "centrum" tar vi en avstick-are upp mot La Mulata för att köpa fogmassa på Johnnys Ceramica. Dom säljer det i mindre kvantitet än Linares i alla fall gjorde dom det. Sen promenerar vi vidare till Playero för lite shopping, Seija har hittat surkål på burk där vilket inte finns på Janet's. Jag hoppas på att dom har fetaost, den dominikanska varianten som är billigare än den importerade märket som vi även har i Sverige, den dominikanska varianten är helt ok i smak. Jag är sugen på grekisk sallad och till det behöver man verkligen fetaost.

Vår gäst Suzanne lämnade en oöppnad förpackning med brieost som både Seija och jag gillar, när vi väl skulle testa osten var den stenhård, det gick knappt att skära den i bitar. Steve berättade att han har köpt den brieosten vid två tillfällen, den ena gången var den stenhård och den andra gången luktade den fruktansvärt illa när han öppnade den. Jag hoppas på att Playero har butikspackad brieost på måndag då ska jag köpa en liten bit för nu kan jag inte få bort tanken på att äta brieost på kex ur mitt huvud.

I will take
the risk

I was so tired yesterday towards evening, when I checked the time it was only 8 pm and so early I can't go to bed to sleep. I tried so hard to stay awake but I couldn't, I woke up around 10 pm to turn off Netflix and then I fell back asleep without a problem. The next time I woke up it was just before midnight then it was the rain that woke me up, I had to close the glass doors because the curtains were sucked in and out of the mosquito net.

I was quite sure that we would have large amounts of rainwater on the plot and also around Procab but we didn't. Also this morning, Ginger was reluctant to go out, so I walked my two laps first, then Ginger came with me for a walk, not on a longer walk, but she came out from the house anyway.

Seija had checked today's weather frorecast and apparently it's supposed to rain on and off like it should have done yesterday which it didn't, will it be the same today too? When I saw a bit of a blue sky between the clouds I decided to take the risk of rainy weather, I fetched the turquoise paint and a brush then I started my project to freshen up flower pots. Today I gave 9 pots a new coat of paint. Where the pots are standing on the gable of the apartment building, I will freshen up the ground tomorrow, I will clear away weeds and leaves and put the pots in a straighter line if possible considering the uneven ground. When the paint and brush were back in our storage room, I saw that there was a turquoise flower pot in the other palm grove that also needed a little refreshing of the paint, but that will have to wait to another day.

I'm waiting for the washing machine to be finished so I can hang the laundry. It looks like the weather is clearing up, in any case it is more and more sunny than earlier, I will take a chance and put the washing rack in the sun on the terrace with the hope of quick drying of the laundry.

Ginger just loves to lie on the sunbed, she does it more and more often. I've seen that there are "sunbeds" for dogs, Ginger will get one if we have a balcony/terrace big enough for it once we live in Spain, of course you can have it indoors too so that might be an option for us. Yesterday I checked on Amazon and you can order one from there, it wasn't too expensive either.

We have decided that we will go to Sosua on Monday, we will jump off at El Choco to check if the pool store there has the yellow liquid that you need to check the chlorine level in the pool, it is not available here in Cabarete if you don't buy a completely new test kit, which we did last time. After that stop we will walk towards Sosua "centre" with a d-tour up towards La Mulata to buy grout at Johnny's Ceramica. They sell it in a smaller quantity than Linares, anyway they did so. After that we will walk on to Playero for some shopping, Seija has found canned sauerkraut there which is not available at Janet's. I hope they have feta cheese, the Dominican version which is cheaper than the imported brand that we also have in Sweden, the Dominican version is perfectly fine in taste. I'm craving Greek salad and for that you really need feta cheese.

Our guest Suzanne left an unopened package of brie cheese that both Seija and I like, when we tried the cheese it was rock hard, we could hardly cut it into pieces. Steve told me that he has bought that brand of brie cheese on two occasions, one time it was rock hard and the other time it smelled awful when he opened it. I'm hoping that Playero has store-packed brie cheese on Monday then I'll buy a small piece because now I can't get the thought of eating brie cheese on crackers out of my head.
