Utan el

Det har kommit lite regn under natten, det var knappt synbart imorse att det har regnat. Vad man verkligen märkte var att elen försvann vid midnatt då började min takfläkt att låta så att jag vaknade av det. Det kändes så pass svalt att jag överlevde utan fläkt. Ginger väckte mig några timmar senare då for hon ut genom myggnätet som en raket, hon fick inte upp dörren det fick jag knappt heller när jag försökte lite senare. Det verkar som om ramen/hjulen hade kommit ur fas. Det var inte många dagar sedan som jag fixade myggnätet nu är det löst igen. Vad Ginger reagerade på vet jag inte, när jag kom ut då nosade hon runt på uppfarten.

Strax efter 8.30 då dog våra batterier till invertern, Seija hade precis lämnat huset för att åka till Sosua. När jag tittade ut på gatan kom en granne powerwalkande hon visste inget om elen bara att även dom var utan. Jag hann i alla fall informera våra gäster via whatsapp innan elen försvann helt för oss.

Jag tog vatten från poolen för att kunna tvätta rent staketet runt pergolan samt möblerna. Papperskorgen som vi har där föll i bitar när jag flyttade på den, plast blir snabbt förstörd av solen här, det var bara att kasta den.

När pergolan och bordet samt stolar vid grillen var tvättade då hämtade jag lövblåsen för att samla ihop löv på övre delen av uppfarten. Eftersom löven var lite fuktiga var dom inte lika samarbetsvilliga som vanligt. 

Helt plötsligt hörde jag inte grannarnas generatorer brumma, hade alla utom vi fått elen tillbaka? Jag kollade ut på gatan men såg ingen som jag kunde fråga. Jag fick tvätta mig så gott det gick med våtservetter tills jag kan ta en dusch, jag kände mig för ofräsch för att lämna huset så jag lyssnade på ett poddavsnitt av "Älskade psykopat". Inte långt efter att jag satt mig vid bordet på terrassen med mitt korsord tyckte jag att jag hörde att vår vattenpump var igång - var elen tillbaka???? Halleluja det var den. Jag tog direkt en bra mycket mer renande och uppfräschande dusch än den med våtservetter efter det kunde min irritation lämna kroppen. Det var tydligen bara här i Procab som vi var utan el, våra säkerhetsvakter hade reklamerat problemet direkt till Edenorte som inte kom förrän nyss för att åtgärda problemet.

Vi har tydligen haft jordskalv i gryningen som uppmättes till strax över 4, Puerto Plata och Santiago blev drabbade denna gång.

Without electricity

It rained a little during the night, it was barely noticeable this morning that it had rained. What you really noticed was that the electricity disappeared at midnight, then my ceiling fan started to make noise so I woke up from it. It felt a bit cool so I would survive without a fan. Ginger woke me up a few hours later when she went out through the mosquito net like a rocket, she couldn't open the door, I barely managed to do that when I tried a little later. It seems as if the frame/wheels had come out of phase. It wasn't many days ago since I fixed the mosquito net, now it's loose again. I don't know what Ginger reacted to, when I came out she was sniffing around the driveway.

Shortly after 8:30 our inverter batteries died, Seija had just left the house to go to Sosua. When I looked out on the street a neighbor came power walking she didn't know anything about the electricity only that they didn't have it either. At least I managed to inform our guests via WhatsApp before the electricity went out completely for us.

I took water from the pool to be able to wash the fence around the pergola and the furniture. The trash can that we have there fell to pieces when I moved it, plastic is quickly destroyed by the sun here, I just had to throw it away.

When the pergola and table and chairs by the barbecue were washed too, I fetched the leaf blower to collect the leaves on the upper part of the driveway. Since the leaves were a little damp, they were not as cooperative as usual.

Suddenly I didn't hear the neighbors' generators humming, had everyone except us got the electricity back? I checked out on the street again but I didn't see anyone that I could ask. I had to wash myself as best I could with wet wipes that will had to do until I could take a shower, I felt too unfresh to leave the house so I listened to a podcast episode of "Beloved Psychopath". Not long after I sat down at the table on the terrace with my crossword puzzle, I thought I heard our water pump running - was the power back on???? Hallelujah it was. I immediately took a much more cleansing and refreshing shower than the one with wet wipes after that my irritation could leave my body. Apparently it was only here in Procab that we were without power, our security guards had reported the problem directly to Edenorte who did not arrive until just now to fix the problem.

Apparently we had an earthquake at dawn that measured just over 4, Puerto Plata and Santiago were affected this time.
